Game Recap
Before I get started, if Jerry Manual is suspended, it is that dirty little cheater Vicorino's fault, for INTENTIONALLY ramming in to Jose Reyes to get an interference call.
Last night the Mets destroyed Jamie Moyer to sweep the Phillies, 7-5.
Starting
The Mets got their fourth straight quality start since the Ollie debacle last night with Pelf going seven innings of three runs, and he did not strike a batter out, and some of the Mets were joking with him about it afterwards. but if every start was like this one for the rest of the year, I would be pretty happy. Last night he was a ground ball contact pitcher and it worked very effectively. He had fourteen ground outs, and looked like the Pelf from last year, his line was: 7 IP, 3 ER, 0Ks, 8 hits, 1 BB.
Bullpen
The Mets' pen again only had two innings to go through, and they got it done. In the eighth they went to Pedro Feliciano, who if he got the right call on the Victorino play, would have not allowed any runs, but instead he allowed two, making it 7-5. In the ninth the Mets closer Frankie Rodriguez "hosed the fire", both in my brain, and in the case of the Phillies shot at winning.
Offense
The Mets offense was lead by home runs from David Wright, Carlos Beltran, and Jose Reyes all in the first two innings off of Jamie Moyer, that helped them put it away early. David Wright was 3-3 and looked like the David Wright I called MVP last year, Carlos Delgado was 2-3, and Ramon Castro hit a two run double. They really clicked last night.

I was there. It was a fun game. THe first win I have been to this year. 1-3 (plus a exhibition win).

I'll have to see if I can find a video of the play to check it out.
